JÖRG KRATZ

Jörg Kratz creates intimately sized paintings that successively reveal images of imaginative woods oscillating between presence and withdrawal. His works pursue the idea of an ambiguous, mentally inhabitable realm and whilst the gaze focuses on their small, densely interwoven surfaces the visualization of space and intimacy through light, shadow and texture becomes apparent as their main concern. Through their formal concentration and atmospheric density the works become vessels for our imagination.
